We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our exciting Sticker Competition at WordCamp Cape Town! As part of the fun and creativity that embodies WordCamp, we’ve designed some unique and playful Wapuus, and we want you to join in on the fun.
How to Participate:
- Scan the QR Code: Each attendee will receive a brown paper bag containing a flyer with the QR code, a LightSpeed logo sticker, and a unique Wapu to start your sticker collection.
- Follow the Steps: Head over to our competition page and follow the six easy steps outlined there.

Meet the new Wapuus
Discover our unique mascots inspired by Cape Town’s spirit:
Safapuu – LSX Tour Operator
Safapuu, the South African Wapuu, takes you on a journey through the African Savana. As the mascot for LSX Tour Operator, Safapuu is wild, distinctive, and culturally rich. Discovered by Ash Shaw, Safapuu first appeared on 1st August 2024.
Wa-penguu – LSX Design Mascot
Wa-penguu, the Surfer Penguin Wapuu, brings the beach vibes of Boulders Beach to life. This playful and inclusive character is the mascot for LSX Design, surfing through projects with a cheerful attitude. Also discovered by Ash Shaw, Wa-penguu first appeared on 1st August 2024.
Capuu – LightSpeed’s Mascot
Capuu, the Cape Town Wapuu, embodies the vibrant spirit of Table Mountain. As LightSpeed’s mascot, Capuu is adventurous, nature-inspired, and always ready for a new challenge. Discovered by Ash Shaw, Capuu made its first appearance on 1st August 2024.
The Colourful Wapuus:
We wanted to honour the WordPress community with colourful Wapuus, that are a vibrant representation of the diverse and creative spirit of the WordPress community. These Wapuus not only add a splash of colour to our designs but also symbolize the inclusivity and collaborative spirit that WordPress stands for. Check out the fascinating history of Wapuus to learn more about their origins and significance.
Why We Designed Our Wapuus:
At LightSpeed, we designed our Wapuus to reflect our brand’s identity and values. Each Wapuu is tailored to represent different aspects of our services and the unique culture of Cape Town.
