What cookies are
Cookies are small text files set by websites you visit. They are used to remember preferences, support functionality, and in some cases measure how the site is used. They are not, on their own, dangerous.
Cookies we use
- Essential and WordPress cookies — needed for the site to work. A temporary cookie checks whether your browser accepts cookies and is discarded when you close it. If you log in, login cookies last two days (two weeks if you choose “Remember Me”) and screen-options cookies last one year. A post-editing cookie lasts one day and holds no personal data.
- Comment cookies — if you comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website. These last one year.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand page performance and traffic sources, using Google (Site Kit, Analytics).
- Email and form cookies — support newsletter sign-up and contact-form behaviour.
- Embedded content cookies — videos, maps, and forms from third parties may set their own cookies.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers also let you set cookies per-site. Blocking essential cookies may make parts of the site behave unexpectedly.
Changes to this policy
If we change how cookies are used, this page is updated and the date at the top changes.
