WordCamp Cape Town 2024 Recap

WordCamp Cape Town 2024 united WordPress enthusiasts for insightful talks and networking. The event featured sessions on new technologies and business strategies, fostering a lively and inclusive community. Our team proudly sponsored the event and hosted a stand there, showcasing our products and engaging the community.

A Grand Reunion: WordCamp Cape Town 2024

WordCamp Cape Town 2024 was a special event for the WordPress community, held on 1-2 August after a five-year break. The conference brought together a mix of developers, designers, business owners, and fans of WordPress. The venue had stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and modern facilities, making it perfect for the event.

This year’s WordCamp had many talks on important WordPress topics. The sessions covered the latest WordPress technologies, business strategies, and community building. These talks were full of useful information and practical tips. Key highlights included talks on Headless WordPress development, custom WordPress blocks, and future trends in web development. Notable speakers included Rudi Roux, Jonathan Bossenger (who also organised the event), and Hannah Smith, who gave engaging presentations.

The event had a strong sense of community, with many chances to network, share ideas, and make connections. The friendly atmosphere made it easy for people to chat and share experiences. The breaks and the after-party were lively, providing relaxed settings for more casual interactions. The organisers did a great job of making everyone feel welcome and comfortable.

Our WordCamp Experience: Engaging Talks and Vibrant Participation

Our team had a great time at WordCamp Cape Town 2024. As proud sponsors of the event, we were thrilled to support and be part of such a lively gathering. The event was well-organised, creating an inclusive atmosphere. There was a good mix of experienced WordPress users and newcomers, all excited to learn and share their stories.

One highlight for us was organising a fun and interactive sticker contest. It was a big hit with attendees, who enjoyed collecting and trading stickers to complete their sets. It was great to see the creativity and excitement this activity sparked. We’re excited to announce that the winner of the sticker competition was Niki Köhne from Niki Design with the post alongside. You can check out her amazing work on her website and follow her on X at @NDStudioblog.

We want to thank the other sponsors for making this event possible and give a special shoutout to WigWag, who not only sponsored the event but also hosted an amazing sponsor dinner. This dinner was a great start to the event, allowing sponsors to network, get to know each other, and share insights. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere created by WigWag was both welcoming and lively, setting a positive tone for the days ahead.

Special mention goes to BobGroup, our stall neighbours. They were a fantastic couple of guys who made the event even more enjoyable. You can learn more about them and their work here.

Overall, WordCamp Cape Town 2024 was a memorable and valuable experience for our team. It was a great chance to connect with the WordPress community, exchange ideas, and explore new possibilities. We left feeling inspired and motivated, eager to try out new ideas and continue contributing to the WordPress world. The event’s spirit of collaboration and shared passion made it truly special, and we can’t wait for the next one.
